In His Family
It's amazing to think that the last time I updated my blog was last month. On one hand, time has passed so quickly and we're in mid-2010 already and yet, on the other hand, these last few weeks of the course are still extremely slow going. The mystery of time.
Well, since I last updated, I turned 23! It was pretty strange since I'm still struggling to remember turning 22. Anyway, as you might know by now, my parents made it back to London safely on the 6th just in time to celebrate with me and just in time for us to celebrate my dad's birthday and mother's day as well. Yup, those 3 days in a row (7,8,9 May) were definitely days of celebration. Praise God for the many many many blessings he has bestowed on us. We didn't have any huge parties or do anything out of the ordinary. In fact, it was just a nice weekend where we stayed at home and enjoyed each other's company. We did go out for dinner and I did have a huge and most delicious steak... in case you were wondering, but mostly just stayed at home in order for both of my parents to catch up on some rest and just adjust back to London time and weather.
The last 3 days have also bee our South East London Fellowship Retreat. I managed to attend the Monday night and Tuesday sessions which was fantastic. Sometimes I feel really cut off from everyone and though I didn't really socialise as much as I normally would've like to, it was just wonderful to be around some familiar and friendly faces. I think my parents really enjoyed it too though none of us truly appreciated the cold showers that first morning. There's something perfectly soothing about being able to admire God's creation from that sitting room though and I know I was very thankful for the peacefulness of Tuesday morning, for the great fellowship of this wider family.
In any case, my dad has been talking about updating his blog so he'll probably have much more to share when he finally gets the chance to do that, Lord willing, soon. I'm sure you'll all be dying to hear from his own...um... fingers. Until then, greetings from both my parents and on their behalf, we also thank you for all your prayers, support and faithfulness in friendship.
Rejoicing in His goodness and cherishing the closeness of family,
Debbie
