Almost there...
Hey! So I hear that more people have actually been reading this blog. I guess it's a kind of incentive to write another update.
Praise the Lord that though doctors were concerned about my dad's weight, the last weigh in was pretty positive and my dad will be foregoing the drips! This Saturday is also the last radiotherapy day so there is also a huge sense of relief. Both my parents are looking very much forward to the ILM (International Leaders Meeting) in Bangkok, Thailand so please continue to pray with us for rest and recovery so that they will be able to enjoy their time there meeting up with people and so on.
As for me, I'm now into day 2 of my second placement in my old high school. It's been really strange being back in this familiar place but being in a different position. Many of my old teachers are still there so it was really great catching up with a few of them and testing to see if they remember me. On the other hand, it does feel a little daunting to be teaching alongside them.
One thing I am really grateful for so far, is that they are letting me ease into it rather slowly. I'm still a bit lost with this new system since I had become accustomed to my last placement so I would appreciate prayers that I will quickly get into the swing of things and that I will be able to teach some of these kids some good maths on top of first and foremost- ly, being a good testimony in the school.
Just wanted to also so a big thanks to so many of you who have shown such love and concern for me, in particular, and on behalf of my parents as I continue to stay at home alone. Be assured, I am never alone. Not only in terms of God reassuring me daily of His most comforting presence (even on those horribly grey and/or tiring and/or stressful days) but also through some amazing neighbours.
I am looking VERY much forward, however, to being with my parents again at the very end of March and being able to celebrate with them not only their 25 years of marriage but more importantly, 25 years (and more) of God's unfailing love, great mercy, grace and faithfulness. Of course, I'm also looking forward to the food but we'll leave that part out for now. Thanks again, as always, for your ongoing prayers and for your invaluable friendship.
