Oh My Goodness Gracious
It just dawned on me that I haven't given you lovely people an update since the 24th of September. Though I don't expect anybody to be hanging on to their monitors for an update, I still feel some sort of responsibility.
Well, if you must know, I've had an extremely frustrating week mostly steming from the terrible new system that my University adopted. I've now had to re-enroll four times, choose my modules probably closer to six times and visit the school office to complain and sort things out more times in this last week than over the last three years. Thankfully, it's not been an all-bad week. Our printed newsletters were finally delivered including 90 extra copies which was not in the order but was well-appreciated. I've still somehow managed to stay on top of most if not all of my homework which was excellent to give me more freedom to read a couple of books. Recently and finally picked up 'Not I, but Christ' written by Stephen Olford which has been a really really great challenge and inspiration to me during this tough week. I certainly do Praise the Lord for the reminder of this truth and even this morning, it was a great source of encouragement.
I'm also still in the process of finishing my application to train as a secondary math teacher. Post Graduate Certificate of Education (PGCE). I'm still waiting to meet with a careers advisor to discuss one part of the application which is confusing me. So far every time I've been free to make an appointment, the office has been closed. I find it really strange that the careers people only work from Monday to Thursday, 11am-4pm! In any case, perhaps I'll get a chance next week. If you remember me during the week, I really would appreciate prayer about this application.
More exciting news: I'm going to see Lion King (the musical) with a few of my classmates in November. We've also planned some Christmas activities, which sounds really fun though you might think it's a little early for that. The more I think about Christmas, the more excited I find myself that it's just around the corner. You might have heard, my dad has a meeting in Paris so we're all going over for a weekend in December (you can see it in our Itinerary if you don't believe me) so I'll finally be in France after all this time. After that, we've got a break planned in Italy which sounds an absolute adventure so there is definitely loads to look forward to.
Just a couple more prayer requests that come to mind before I end my report. Please do pray for my mum who is not well physically. She's had a terrible cough for a couple of weeks now. Also, she's had scans and checks with the hospital recently revealing a growth of some kind. The doctors have said it's safe but we're still waiting for more results. Other than that, she is fine and still working in the office. Do continue to pray for her. Thank you for your prayers for me dad whose sore throat has now passed. He'll be coming back from Japan on the 14th of October (Tuesday) but until then he's still got a couple of meetings and travelling dates. He'll be off to Denmark again not too long after getting back and then one more trip to the Philippines in November before he'll be back with us (my mum and myself) for the rest of the year. Thank you all for your continued prayers and of course, your invaluable friendship.
(Please note: our September prayerletter has now been sent out except Singapore as we are waiting for our database to be updated.
