It's OVER!

Well, at this very moment I'm in the midst of praising Jesus that my exams are over for this academic year. The last paper, which I sat today, was surprisingly the most horrible one and it feels like it would take a miracle to pass but our God is a God of miracles and whatever happens, I definitely want to give God all the glory for getting me through them. Please do continue to pray for my results as I really do not want to have to resit anything because I'm not in the country and it will probably be a lot of headache to arrange to retake wherever I happen to be in the world.

Yes, this summer if our family furlough which means that we're travelling all over the place. I believe the correct order of destinations is Singapore- USA-Japan-Singapore-Australia-Singpore-UK though there will probably be some Malaysia in there and who knows where else God will bring us. As you can imagine, I'm really thoroughly excited about this furlough. 'm especially ecstatic about being in Japan again although a little disappointed not being able to travel much out of Tokyo itself. Of course, Singapore and Malaysia is always an adventure in itself and I'm looking forward to meeting my brand new cousin who was born on the 17th of May.

You will notice that I may sound very enthusiastic and believe me, I right now, I'm also winding down from the adrenaline rush of exams and so on so I'm quite exhausted. I came home today and a took a hot bath. I am a little ashamed that I could waste that water but it was really nice to be able to do that and just relax a bit. I just need to go find a massage chair in Singapore airport now to put the cherry on the top. There's still quite a lot of things to do before we leave for SIngapore, etc so please do continue to pray for me that I will be able to get some good rest in between and that I will really continue to learn to rest in the Lord. I have had some amazing mornings with God in these last few days in the midst of exams though I pray that God will forgive me for really stressing out a little this morning before this last exam.

In any case, thank you all so much for your faithful prayers. Again, I am constantly reminded of my dependence of God and have been so encouraged by your prayers and your challenging words through emails and so on. Oh yea, thank you also to everyone who remembered me on my birthday some time ago. If I haven't sent you a thank you card personally, I do apologise but do want to thank you all the same.

Enjoying the Beauty of His Holiness,
Debbie

Birthday Bash

Well, that day finally came that I turned 21. Wednesday, 7th May 2008 and what a day it was. I'm feeling a little "stupid" for not catching on what was happening sooner. Apparantly lots of people accidentally slipped vital information my way but I had no idea what was coming.

For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, my parents threw me a surprise party. My mum had been planning this for some time, apparantly, and sent out about 100 invitations. In the end, we had an awesome turnout of about 47 people I think it was. It was such a blessing to be reminded of God's goodness and faithfulness in my life through all the friends and family who remembered me on my birthday. I was truly overwhelmed by so many people who texted or emailed or facebooked or came to the party and am grateful to be able to call all of them friends.

I don't really know how to give you details about what happened exactly since a lot happened in terms of little things that just made the day that much more wonderful. There are photos though on facebook and so on and I will try and get a link to that some time in the near-ish future. We also had a wonderful friend to video the whole thing so when I finish my exams, I'll go through it and edit it into one video and if you'd like to see a copy of it, just let me know and wait...for some time. =0)

Speaking of exams, I had one today and one the day before my birthday. Both went surprisingly well though they were also both not very pleasant. I actually came out of my first exam with the hymn "Thine be the Glory" in my head for some reason but a good hymn is better than depressive thoughts any day. Thank you to all those who are praying for me and my exams, I do take your prayers very seriously and am grateful to you for them. I am convinced that the only way I'm remembering things I revised days before is because God is answering your prayers. Please do continue to pray as I have 6 more exams. I can't remember if I gave you the dates for them but I have one on the 15th of May and then 4 in a row on the 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd of May and then one last one on the 29th. I'd give you further details but feel that it is quite unnecessary. Please, however, let me know if you want all the gory details.

Well, just want to thank you all again for your faithfulness in friendship, love and support, I definitely do praise God for all of you.

Giving God All the Glory for His faithfulness in each and everyday of the last 21 years...
