Quickie

Well, right now we're all in Narita Airport in Japan. I just had a wonderful shower in the ANA lounge that we got invited to because of my parents' gold card and my hair feels all nie and soft because they had really nice conditioner. haha.

I, for one, had a really wonderful time in Japan, as I expected I would. It was SO great to be able to finally meet the family and church who usually hosts my dad when he comes to this part of Japan. We also managed to meet up with some other exOMers though we missed many more. I cannot believe our 12 days here are over and hopefully we will be able to come back soon.

Just a quick update about my exam situation. I have since received another email letter me know that they are allowing me to continue with the next year though I will have to take the two exams I failed this year on top of the new 8 next year. So, this means I will be taking 10 exams next summer. This does not entirely appeal to me but please continue to pray that I will be able to take on this challenge and be a good testimony to my fellow classmates who (some of them) are in the same boat.

Well, I do want to take the next few minutes to relax a little bit and eat the free food here in the lounge. My last taste of Japan is so precious though perhaps the aiport isn't really Japan... well, I whatever the case, I'm going to enjoy myself a little.

Thanks for reading...

Failure and Disappointment

It does sound like a very depressing title doesn't it and I'm sorry to have put it there but it seemed only appropriate to my situation. Well, you will have known that I took 8 exams this summer. Well, yesterday I got my results and found out that I failed two of my modules. I guess the Chinese mentality of "failure is not an option" really got to me at that point of time. I think a few tears slipped out of my eye though now that I think about it, it might have been more because I was quite tired already and the bad news probably just tipped me over the edge.

In any case, I cooled down surprisingly quickly and my super supportive parents were a big help by not making such a huge deal of it. I find it hard to believe now that a few moments later I even found myself whistling "Great is Thy Faithfulness" and I knew that God was there. It's not all great to be humbled in this way but if it brings God glory, then Praise Him indeed!!!

Please do pray for me though as now I'm waiting for an email that will either tell me that I have to retake the two modules in August This would mean that I'll probably be like a chicken without a head trying to organise taking them exams again somewhere in Singapore. I would probably have to pay about 100 pounds and work out if I need to fly back to Singapore from Australia earlier, costing more money so please do pray that this won't happen. It would be really difficult for me to revise these modules again while travelling and without my notes and resources to do so. The other option, which I'm really praying will be the case, would mean that I would have to retake these modules next year. This would be better despite the fact that I will have to do these again on top of all my eight new modules for next year so I'll have to take ten exams next summer. Yes, this means more work plus the modules next year and supposed to be harder so please do pray for me.

Thank you so much for all your continued prayers. I really am blessed and give thanks to the Lord that there are people praying reinforcements into my life. Praise Jesus!

Well, right now we're staying in a friend's house in San Diego. He used to be my dad's line-up boss before I was born and it's been a blast being here. I was also incredibly blessed to be able to talk to some old friends over the phone and catch up with other random people. What an incredible blessing indeed!

All Glory be to God for He is Faithful in All things and is my strength in my weakness.

Enjoying Life

Greetings from Sacramento dearest friends. Please excuse my last blog but I don't have a proper excuse.

Just a couple of days ago we were let loose in Barnes & Nobles ( a huge bookstore) which was incredibly fun. I found a really old Bible study book about women in the Bible. The first chapter, lesson as it is called in the book, is about understanding the Bible. Though short, I have been immensely encouraged and challenged. Praise the Lord!

Well, we're taking it reasonably easy at the moment. Enjoying the company of our hosts and the character of the places we visit. Mount Hermon, where I wrote from the last time, was absolutely wonderful. Peaceful. Picturesque. Terribly fun when we got the dominoes out and some great personalities of the Miller family. =0) Again, I won't be able to put out photos until we get back to Singapore so please stay patient.

I could carry on but my lethargic mood is telling me to give my fingers a rest and watch the film that's playing on the TV in front of me that everyone else is watching. I won't tell you the movie or you might jump into conclusions on my kind of movie. *grin*

Goodnight!
