Thankful Weekend

What a weekend! I wonder how many of you feel the same way (though of course, for different reasons).

My family and I went to a Christian retreat over the weekend called Passion for God Conference (www.passionforgod.org.uk) where we had a really wonderful time. God seemed to be doing amazing things and we are grateful for the contacts and friendships made even in that short time. There were a few people who seemed genuinely interested in the ministry of the ships (i.e. Doulos, Logos Hope, etc) and a few specifically interested in my dad and I guess our family's ministry. It was truly exciting to see people really hungry for God and His word. I hope we'll be able to stay in touch with a few of them and perhaps get some more feedback. Isn't it amazing what God can do even in just a few days... in a few hours... in a few moments?

I was challenged myself to live more fully for Christ. How many countless opportunities have I missed? How far away from Christ's standard am I... It must be several trips to the moon and back if not around the entire solar system more than a couple times. Praise the Lord for His mercies new every morning and for His sufficient Grace!

Well, I'm going to go now...to find out how God is related to my homework. *grin*

In ALL things give thanks!

Happy Valentines Day!

I did say in my last post that I'll probably update next on Valentines so here I am. Here's a bit of random trivia- did you know that on the 29th of February (i.e. leap year) that if a woman asks a guy to marry him he either has to accept or compensate her by the LAW! Yea, there's an actual law that says that although  think it probably only applies to the UK. It was on the newspaper the other day. Hmm.... who should I ask to marry me- hahaha, I'm just kidding. I would never be so cruel as to force some guy to marry me or pay up although the very idea that there is such a law just boggles my mind. I wonder if many people use, or should I say, abuse it? I find Valentines such a funny day. On my way home from school all the card shops had long queues of guys who obviously are doing the last minute shopping... I wish I had a camera.

Anyway, enough random trivia, if any of you are on facebook, you'll probably have noticed that my status is on "sick again". I had a cold last week which seemed to be improving until some time this week when it returned with full vengence. Thankfully, my parents are coming back today so I at least I can get some sort of sympathy and also some home-cooked food from them. *sly grin* Actually, it's just a slight cold with an irritating runny nose that is using up all the tissue here at home. I'm definitely looking forward to the weekend when I hopefulyl won't have to get out of bed too much. The weather here (if you're not in London) turned from beautiful and sunny to gloomy and COLD- yes, I blame the weather for this illness. To make it worse, I'm not the only one- a whole bunch of my classmates were joining me in the sniffles and coughs so lectures are not that fun at the moment.

Besides all that, I can't actually remember if I told you guys that I've now gotten my National Insurance number- THANK YOU so much for your prayers! I'm just waiting to get the card and then I will need to go down to the job centre to let them know our change of address. Again, if you didn't know that we've moved house and changed our phone number and need to get those details, please email us (me) and let me know.

Again, Happy Valentines Day...coming up next, Mother's day (or at least for the UK it is- apparantly 2nd March).
