Sustained by His Grace
So I just got off the phone with my mum not too long ago and managed to get a few words with my dad as well. I figured from the ever so slightly increasing amount of emails and facebook messages, that people are itching for an update.
The latest that I've heard is that my dad has had his chemotherapy postponed due to the discovery of his low blood count on Friday. My parents went to visit the haematologist (i.e. blood doctor) today, which is Monday, to discuss what needs to be done. For some reason, my dad's body hasn't been absorbing the nutrients though he has been eating a TON of supplements and is often dehydrated though he does drink a lot. For these reasons, my dad will be going for more tests tomorrow, one of them being a bone marrow test.
Please do continue to pray for both my parents. Please pray for strength as my dad goes for all these tests and for the radio therapy. Though he will be stuck at home the majority of the time, we pray that it will continue to be a fruitful time. Pray also for my mum as she follows my dad to his treatments and juices any fruit or vegetable in sight (praise God for friends who lent them an apparently AMAZING juicer). Also, we are continuing to pray for my grandparents, in particular my grandfather on my dad's side as he goes for dialysis four times a week. Pray for my grandmother as she accompanies him for these 4 hour sessions too.
As for me, I'm in my last 2 weeks of this first school placement. God has been gracious and ever faithful (no surprise there) in numerous ways. It continues to be a moment by moment, day by day dependence on the grace of God and I'm thankful to the Lord for provisions made through friendship, through prayer and through his word. Please do continue to pray for me too as I start my second placement in my old high school in mid-late February. I will resist telling you my thoughts of how these next few weeks are going to be... let's just say I'm REALLY REALLY grateful for all your prayers. :)
*deep breath* Well, I am sorry if this update took a little while in coming but I hope it will suffice for now.
